Qualitat's control room training system is running in an industrial pilot at Arauco's pulp operations in Chile. Operators are already training on replicas of the operator screens (HMI) for the recovery boiler area.
What XTraining does
XTraining replicates a plant's screens and process logic in a digital twin. Operators face startups, failures, and emergencies without touching the real operation, and artificial intelligence records every action to build their operational profile: reaction time, risk analysis, and applied knowledge.
Why it matters in pulp
An area like the recovery boiler has between 80 and 120 operator screens. Training an operator on the real plant takes months, and every mistake is paid for in operational continuity. Training first on a simulator that faithfully reproduces the HMI reduces that risk and leaves evidence of competence for each person.
A relationship built over years
Arauco was already working with Qualitat on virtual reality safety training. The XTraining pilot extends that relationship from risk prevention to operational productivity.
Next steps
The goal is to evolve from the basic version now installed to an advanced solution, covering more of the plant's processes and with personalized training plans generated by AI.
